The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority operates bus and rail services under the name Metro, serving the city of Los Angeles and other areas within the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area.
Metro operates two types of rail, heavy rail and light rail. Heavy rail encompasses the B and D Lines while light rail encompasses the A, C, E, and K Lines.
